Farms Specializing in Foaling Horses:

High Prairie takes pride in 15 years of starting competition horses under saddle. While focusing on thoroughbreds for racing, High Prairie also stands four   certified Illinois stallions.  While we are in our inaugural year, we are not lacking in expertise.  We ensure that our stallions receive top notch care and regular exercise to ensure a positive breeding experience.  Your brood mares are your investment, and we ensure that they receive quality care and monitoring.   High Prairie knows that these horses are the future of racing, and treats them accordingly. 

If you choose to foal your mare with High Prairie, they will be under the watchful eye of Betty Espenschied at the foaling farm, which is just down the road from the main facility.  Betty is Dwight's mom, and has extensive experience with equine husbandry.  With roomy foaling stalls and lush pastures, it is the ideal farm to raise the babies.

Day Rates for Mares in Foal  are as follows:

Dry Broodmare Care -                                    $15/day

   

Wet Broodmare Care -                                    $17/day

 

Foaling Charge  -                                              $300/one time

 

 

*  Prices do not include veterinarian costs such as palpation, ultrasound, post-natal care, etc. and does not include maintenance procedures such as deworming and farrier work.  These costs are assessed at competetive rates.
